Monitoring your imports allows you to track how many items are searchable and identify any gaps between the number of items/articles/SKUs in your product feed and the number of items successfully processed by Sensefuel.
1. Understanding Gaps Between Feed Items and Processed Items
You may notice a difference between the number of items in your feed and the number of items in the compilation (i.e., the items Sensefuel has processed).
This discrepancy usually comes from one of the following reasons:
1.1. Filtering Rules Applied to Your Feed
If you have asked during the implementation phase or later to your CSM to set up a filter on your product feed—for example, to import only “in stock” items (based on the availability attribute)—Sensefuel will:
- import only the items meeting the filter conditions
- ignore all items with an availability value other than “in stock”
This results in fewer processed items than the total number in your feed.
1.2. Items Not Compliant with Feed Specifications
If some items do not meet the minimum requirements of the Sensefuel feed specification, they will not be processed.
Sensefuel applies a 0.5% tolerance threshold:
- If up to 0.5% of items are non‑compliant → they are skipped, and the rest is processed.
- If more than 0.5% of items are non‑compliant → the entire feed is rejected, and no data update occurs.
You can identify non‑compliant products by downloading the error/warning report.
Note that some errors won't allow the tolerance to be executed (generating a feed error) such as duplicated id in the feed, missing mandatory attribute, feed structure is not compliant, etc. In that case most of the time you will receive an e-mail to warn you.
2. Handling Feed Issues
If there is an issue with your feed and you have configured a contact email in the import configuration screen, you will receive an alert.
From the import monitoring interface, you can:
- download the error report
- identify the faulty attributs, lines, items
- correct them on your side
2.1. Checking the Latest File Processed by Sensefuel
We only recommend checking the last file Sensefuel downloaded from your system as this is the only source or truth when analyzing your feed as your feed might have changed meanwhile.
You can access it by clicking the download icon in the monitoring screen.
3. Monitoring Editorial Content (Sensefuel Max)
If you use Sensefuel MAX and have subscribed to editorial content automatically retrieved by a crawler, you can also monitor from this screen:
- the status of the crawler
- the number of contents retrieved
- any errors or inconsistencies
4. Manually Relaunching Your Import
From the monitoring interface, you can manually relaunch an import by:
- triggering a new download from your system, or
- uploading a file manually
Why manually relaunch the import?
-
Urgent merchandising updates
If you need your latest merchandising configurations to take effect immediately without waiting for the next scheduled automatic import. -
Fixing previous feed issues
If you have corrected problems on your side and want Sensefuel to process the updated feed as soon as possible.
