1. Verify Data in the Last Compiled Feed
All data displayed in Sensefuel comes directly from your catalog feed and/or offer feed.
The first step is to check whether the issue already exists in the last compiled feed available on the Sensefuel platform.
2. Check the Feed Compilation Timing
Your feeds are automatically updated according to a predefined schedule configured on the platform.
Key question:
Was your data fully propagated before Sensefuel retrieved the feed?
-
No → The data will not yet be reflected in Sensefuel.
→ Wait for the next scheduled compilation or trigger one manually from the Import Monitoring section. - Yes → Proceed to download and inspect the last compiled feed.
3. Download the Last Compiled Feed
To verify your last compiled feed and whether your data has been correctly processed:
Steps:
- Go to: Catalog > Import Monitoring
- Locate the section: "Last successful compilation"
- Click the download icon
File format notes:
- The downloaded file is in
.txtformat - Its actual structure depends on your source format:
- XML feed → rename to
.xml - CSV feed (or equivalent) → rename to
.csv
- XML feed → rename to
How to open the file:
-
.xml→ use Notepad++ or similar editor -
.csv→ use Excel / LibreOffice / OpenOffice
4. Inspect Product Data
Search for the affected products and verify whether:
- The data is actually present
- The data is correct and up-to-date
5. Identify Possible Root Causes
If the data is missing or incorrect in the compiled feed, the issue likely comes from one of the following:
5.1 Data Not Yet Available at Retrieval Time
The data was not fully propagated when Sensefuel fetched the feed.
Action:
- Wait for the next automatic compilation
- Or trigger a manual compilation from Import Monitoring
5.2 Feed Compilation Errors
The feed compilation failed or encountered issues.
Action:
- Check the compilation error report logs in Import Monitoring
- Refer to the dedicated article on identifying feed errors
5.3 Product or Offer Exclusion
Some items may have been excluded because they do not meet minimum requirements.
Common causes:
- Missing mandatory attributes
- Invalid value formats
- Non-compliant data structure
Action:
Review feed specifications:
⚠️ Special Case: Offer Mode
If you are using offer mode:
- Make sure the product exists in both feeds
- Ensure all mandatory attributes and value types are respected in both
6. API Integration Considerations
6.1 Standard API Integration
If Sensefuel is integrated via APIs:
- Contact your technical team / IT / integration partner
- Verify:
- API requests
- API responses
- Note: Some data may not be managed or displayed via Sensefuel depending on your setup
6.2 Catalog API (Data Injection via API)
If you use the Catalog API:
Real-Time Data (Near Real Time)
The following attributes are updated almost instantly:
- Price / Sale Price / Discount / Availability
- Any custom attribute set up with your Customer Success Manager or during the implementation phase.
Compilation-Required Data
Any other attribute require a feed compilation to be updated.
7. Need Help?
If the issue persists after following these steps, feel free to contact the Sensefuel Support Team for further assistance.
If the data is missing or incorrect, there are three potential root causes:
- The data was simply not yet propagated when Sensefuel retrieved your feed; you need to wait for the next feed to be compiled or launch one manually from the import monitoring section.
- The feed compilation is in error and Sensefuel could not be updated
Please refer to this article to help you better understand how to identify the issue(s). - Some of your articles/offers have been excluded because they do not comply with the minimum requirements.
The mandatory attributes, data and value types are described in the catalog feed and/or offer feed specifications.
Note that if you are in offer mode, you need to make sure that the product you are looking for is in both feeds and have the minimum requirements regarding the mandatory attributes and value types expected.
Note 1, if you have integrated Sensefuel with our APIs
You should first contact your tech team/ IT team / agency in charge of Sensefuel's integration to verify the API calls and responses. Furthermore, with that type of integration, some data might not be displayed from Sensefuel.
Note 2, if you are using the Catalog API to create/update product/offer data in Sensefuel
For critical data such as the price, discount, availability, etc. the API calls will then propagate these data in Near Real Time to Sensefuel front ends (Layer & APIs).
For less critical data such as the title, product type, color, etc. their creation or update will require a compilation.
Do not hesitate to contact our support team if you have further questions
