Branded Spotlights work as visual filters: when users click on them, search results are narrowed down to display only the associated products.
They are mainly designed to highlight:
- brand corners,
- collections,
- or any content meant to remain visible throughout the year.
That said, you are completely free to use Branded Spotlights in any way that best fits your merchandising or business strategy.
Configuration steps
To configure a Branded Spotlight, you need to define:
- Name (internal use only)
- Front‑end label (may be visible to your customers)
- Background image URL or Background Hexadecimal color
- Logo image URL (optional)
- Product selection, defined either:
- dynamically via a product attribute,
- or statically using a selection created previously in Select
⚠️ Note:
The display position of Branded Spotlights in the search layer can vary depending on whether you are using Sensefuel Max or Sensefuel Ignition.
Spotlight auto‑application
What is auto‑application?
Auto‑application occurs when:
- only one Branded Spotlight is returned for a given user search,
- and 100% of the products in the search results belong to that spotlight.
In this case, the spotlight is automatically applied without requiring a manual click.
Exclusive Mode
⚠️ Warning
When Exclusive Mode is enabled, products associated with the Branded Spotlight will only appear in search results when:
- users explicitly click on the spotlight, or
- users search directly for it.
Products linked to this spotlight will not be shown in standard search results otherwise.
This mode is especially useful when:
- managing brands that must not be displayed alongside other brands,
- intentionally hiding outlet or restricted products unless users explicitly access them via a dedicated Branded Spotlight.
Image recommendations
Background image
The background image sets the general atmosphere of the spotlight.
Recommendations:
- Avoid at maximum text in the background image (ambience only) as the visible area automatically adapts based on the screen size/resolution and might crop the text in some displays.
- Center at maximum horizontally the important elements in your background image.
- Set up the square format image in the advanced settings for an improved rendering as this square version replace the panoramic version in some displays (essentially for mobile)
Technical guidelines:
- Max weight: around 100 KB
- Size:
- width: around 1920 px
- height: around 700 px
Logo image
The logo appears on top of the background image. You should use the logo instead of text in your background image.
Recommendations:
- Prefer PNG format for better transparency
- Max weight: around 50 KB
- Height: around 70 px
